OREANDA-NEWS. June 13, 2007. The organizer of the forum is Bulatom. This key purpose of this bright and significant event is to develop nuclear energy in the world. The creative atmosphere of the forum stimulates exchange of views and constructive debates concerning the most urgent problems of the nuclear power industry. This all helps greatly to develop cooperation and to shape adequate public opinion.

Representatives of almost ten counties took part in the forum. On the first day, they were welcomed by Bulgarian officials and the organizers.

A number of plenary sessions and roundtables were conducted during the forum. The participants made reports on a wide range of problems. The major topics of the roundtables were innovative projects, new NPP construction technologies, nuclear waste treatment, personnel management, public awareness and public opinion.

Special attention was given to the Belene NPP construction carried out by Atomstroyexport, particularly, to Moscow Atomenergoproject’s report on the peculiarities of the project.

Atomstroyexport presented two reports: “The Experience and the Prospects of ASE on the World Market” by the advisor of the ASE president Gennady Nefedov and “The Influence of the Public Opinion on NPP Construction Activities” by the ASE spokesperson Irina Yesipova. The audience showed keen interest in the reports and actively discussed them.

The globalizing economy is urging the world countries to consolidate their practical experience under NPP construction and nuclear safety enhancement projects.

More and more countries are beginning to develop nuclear energy and, in order to succeed, they need international cooperation and exchange of experience.
