OREANDA-NEWS. On June 06, 2007 IBS, the leader in the Russian market of consulting services and information technologies, with the experts of IT direction of ОАО OGK-5 developed a corporate portal of ОАО OGK-5. The both companies' experts worked out a conception of the corporate portal and they successfully implemented its functional on the platform of MS Office SharePoint Server 2007, reported the press-centre of  IBS.

ОАО The Fifth Power Generation Company of Wholesale Electric Power Market (OAO OGK-5) is one of the largest Russian producer of electric power. The corporate portal became a base for creation of common information area of the company in the terms of distributed structure (its central office and 4 GRES are in Russian territory). The portal secures centralized storage of corporate information and documents and provides instruments of the employees' interaction. Works of the portal designing included interviewing of key subdivisions heads to define the project's priorities and the structure of portal services. As a result besides standard divisions and the basic functional providing information publishing and its search the following specific categories were created: library of documents, support of efficient meeting, categories of functional directions, design sites.

The library of documents provides structured storage, management and access of specific documentation for each project. A standard site template is developed to support activity of the project groups, it gives a possibility to create fast a section of the portal for separate documentation for each project. Provision of efficient meetings is fulfilled by appropriate section of the portal with functions of running of regulations, minutes, reports, participants' list, control over implementing of instructions.

Use of industrial platform of MS Office SharePoint Server 2007 provided a possibility to integrate the portal with information systems of OGK-5. In particular, on-line data synchronization of employees' directory with data of the staff system on the platform of 1С 8.0 is provided. Search and access to the contracts which are in the account system are fulfilled through the portal. The portal is integrated with the system of registration and control of implementing of incoming and outgoing documents.

"The portal provides information availability for employees of all branches as well as easy search and documents management. It allowed to decrease transaction expenses of the company, to organize joint work of experts from different branches in one information area, to build efficient horizontal communications between participants of the project groups. All of these increase labour efficacy of our employees," – says Alexander Perfilov, the Head of CIS Department, IT Direction, ОАО OGK-5.

The project was fulfilled for 5 months.
