OREANDA-NEWS. On June 14, 2007 a meeting of the Expert Council on Agro-Industry, at the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), took place, reported the press-centre of  FAS Russia.

Taking into account the new requirements of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", members of the Expert Council gave comprehensive consideration to prices on potash chloride, manufactured by "Sil'vinit" OJSC and "Uralkalii" OJSC. They also discussed the issues of companies' positioning on the relevant goods market under conditions of collective dominance.

Deputy Head of FAS Russia, Mr Andrei Tsyganov, informed the Council members on applying the new penalty rates, that came into force due to the amendments to the Code of the Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation, introduced by the N 45-FZ Federal Law 9th April 2007.

Members of the Expert Council on Argo-Industry recommended FAS Russia to consider introducing export duties on potash chloride.

"The market situation requires thorough consideration of the proposals made by the Council members ", said the Head of the Department of Control over Chemical Industry and Argo-Industry, Mr Teimuraz Kharitonashvili, commenting the outcome of the meeting.
