OREANDA-NEWS. On June 15, 2007 Amtel-Vredestein N.V. (LSE: AMV), a leading European tyre producer and Russia's largest passenger car tyre manufacturer confirmed that it has published its 2006 Annual Report, which is available for download at its website. This report is still subject to approval by shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting of Shareholders to be held on 30 June at 11a.m. at Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel and Conference Center, Schiphol Boulevard 101, 1118 BG Amsterdam, reported the press-centre of  Amtel-Vredestein N.V.

The Company previously published its summary 2006 and first quarter 2007 earnings results on 16 May 2007. The audited accounts of the Company as included in this 2006 Annual Report are substantially the same as the previously reported un-audited results. However, the annual sales of the Company have been adjusted to $817 million versus the previously reported $823 million. This occurred because $6 million in revenue and accordingly in cost of goods sold has been reclassified as inter-company transactions in the fourth quarter of 2006. Profit from operations also reduced to $33 million from $36 million, primarily because of additional provisions related to AV-TO subsidiary. The Net loss improved to $5 million from $7 million as a result of approved adjustments.

The audited financial results reveal that the Company delivered a profit from continuing operations of $41 million and a net profit of $1 million.

The consolidated statement of cash flows for the period also shows significant improvement. The positive cash flows from operating activities were $13 million versus a shortfall of $39 million in 2005. The audited statements also confirm a significant growth in the Company’s core passenger car tyre ("PCT") business — up 30,4% to $450 million, and up 47,5% to $509 million when including PCT sold through its AV-TO division.

Copies of the Annual Report and Accounts and the Notice of Annual General Meeting will be submitted to the UK Listing Authority and will soon be available for inspection at the UK Listing Authority’s Document Viewing Facility, which is situated at: The Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London E14 5HS.
