OREANDA-NEWS. On June 18, 2007 the number of exhibitions devoted to postal service were opened on the eve of the International Strategic Forum "Pochtovaya Troika — 2007" in the A.S. Popov Central Museum of Communications, reported the press-centre of  Russian Post.

The exhibition "Polar post" is devoted to 70th anniversary of the first state drifting-station "North pole — 1". It consists mainly of the exhibits from State funds of postage prepayment impressions. Interesting exhibits from documentary and personal apparatus funds as original photographs and letters are also presented on it. Moreover documentary cinema telling of the history of polar post was presented within the framework of the opening of the exhibition.

The exhibition "Retrospective of mail-art" demonstrates bright postal messages of the artists from different countries who took part in the museum project "Mailartissimo" held 2004-2006. All of the pictures are made in mail-art technique considered to be modern art of postal items.

The exhibition "POSTART" represents the art of postal accessorizes. It is small, but very expressive exhibition of jewelries as jewel-boxes and accessorizes for postage stamps. According to G. Gabriel, art critic, member of Commonwealth of Artists the unique feature of the exhibition is that the art of creation of accessorizes has been almost lost after Revolution, however nowadays young artists renovate it.

All exhibitions will last till the end of June.
