OREANDA-NEWS. On June 15, 2007, within the framework of his visit to the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Kostin, Chairman and CEO of VTB Bank met Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus. Top on the agenda was VTB full acquisition of Slavneftebank controlling stake through an additional issue, reported the press-centre of  VTB.
 
Andrei Kostin informed Alexander Lukashenko about VTB Group activities in the Republic of Belarus. Today, VTB Group banks are the largest lenders and fund raising arrangers in the international market for the Ministry of Finance, commercial banks and enterprises of Belarus.

VTB Chairman and CEO also shared his plans concerning business development in Belarus. In particular, he intends to increase the subsidiary bank capital, open new VTB offices, and offer new banking products. Andrei Kostin also told about Slavneftebank future rebranding into VTB Bank (Belarus) and plans for its development, which were approved by Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus.

During his visit, Andrei Kostin also met Piotr Prokopovich, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus to discuss the issues of exchanging experience in such spheres as corporate management, risk management and banking IТ - technologies.
