OREANDA-NEWS. On June 19, 2007 the deputy head of Rosatom Ivan Kamenskikh, the president of ASE Sergey Shmatko, the heads of ASE’s partners and the director of the Moscow Office of the Chinese National Nuclear Corporation told the audience about the activities of Russian nuclear power companies in China and the prospects of further cooperation on the construction of Russian WWER-1000 reactors in that country, reported the press-centre of Nuclear Power Industry.

The journalists received exhaustive answers to all of their questions concerning the key parameters and peculiarities of the 1st unit of Tianwan NPP, which is already supplying electricity to a whole province.

After a long pause, Atomstroyexport has become the first company to commission a big and safe nuclear power unit. This proves that the companies and organizations constituting the core of the Russian nuclear power industry have huge potential and real resources for implementing the most difficult and responsible projects.

The representative of the Chinese side said that the experience they have acquired from their Russian partners and the success of the project are a good basis for further cooperation on NPP construction in China.

The project has helped ASE to gain more experience, to enhance its potential, to improve its management systems, to strengthen confidence in Russian nuclear technologies and to ensure its further expansion on the world market.
