OREANDA-NEWS. It was one more opportunity for Atomstroyexport to present its achievements and innovative solutions in NPP construction abroad.

Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico attended the exhibition and familiarized himself with ASE’s capacities. He showed special interest in the NPP-2006 project and new Russian WWER technologies. In a subsequent interview Fico said that the Slovakian authorities were negotiating with Atomstroyexport for its involvement in NPP construction in Slovakia and expressed hope that the negotiations would be successful.

Shmatko said that the growing demand for nuclear energy in the world requires coordination of efforts and resources for joint NPP construction. “Today, Russian nuclear technologies are in high demand abroad due to the safety and efficiency of our projects. This is opening wide opportunities for Russian-Slovakian nuclear cooperation,” Shmatko said. He presented the history, experience and the prospects of Atomstroyexport, its production, export potential and advanced technologies.

Many public, financial, scientific, industrial and energy organizations showed interest in the ASE exposition. Many of them pointed out the necessity of strengthening Russian-Slovakian cooperation in nuclear power engineering.
