OREANDA-NEWS. On June 19, 2007 on the International Aerospace Show in Le Bourget JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” has signed a contract with Rolls-Royce to equip with Trent 700 engines ten А330-200 airplanes, reported the press-centre of JSC “Aeroflot”.

The contract includes provisions of the long-term agreement on technical support and maintenance of TotalCare engines. Rolls-Royce is the new partner for Aeroflot, since Aeroflot was never before operating the vehicles equipped with Rolls-Royce engines.

As it was announced, the Board of JSC “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” has adopted the operating leasing deal with AerCap (AER) which stipulates delivery of ten А330-200 airplanes. The first two А330-200 airplanes will be delivered to Aeroflot in 2008, five planes – in 2009, and other three ones – in 1020. All the airplanes are newly built, to be delivered directly form the Airbus production facilities.

Aeroflot has decided to choose the А330 airplanes as an intermediary solution to upgrade its long range fleet before the new А350 vehicles would become available in 2014 - 2017.
