OREANDA-NEWS. Rosenergoatom Concern took part in the 2nd Rosatom Innovative Forum in Moscow. The agenda of the forum included an exhibition of innovative projects and a number of roundtables on the development of innovations in the nuclear power industry, inter-sectoral exchange of innovations, banking and venture financing of innovative projects. Over 60 Russian companies took part in the forum: they presented 87 projects for the nuclear power and related industries.

Head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko outlined the key tasks for the participants in the forum with the priority given to the transfer of innovative nuclear technologies.

“Today, the nuclear power industry is one of the key sources of innovations and advanced technologies, the locomotive of scientific-technical progress. Its unique scientific potential can supply innovative solutions not only for its own needs but also for the needs of related industries and even people’s economy,” Kiriyenko said.

“Our priority today is to reduce the time we spend to introduce innovative projects and to find optimal ways to commercialize them. The task of today’s forum is to see which projects are in demand and how we can put them into practice,” Kiriyenko said.

“One more priority task is the establishment of a venture fund. In Aug 2007 the Economic Development Ministry will announce the 2nd contest for venture fund formation. Our projects will also be there. The Government is ready to co-finance this mechanism but the concerned organization should provide no less than 50% of the funds. We should understand which projects are the most attractive for our own companies as most of the innovative projects are meant for such big organizations as Rosenergoatom. During this forum we and the managers of the key sectoral companies should formulate the basic conditions for participating in tenders and receiving financing for innovative projects. All sectoral companies will have to invest in the venture fund in the framework of the Atomenergoprom holding.

Kiriyenko said that the formation of Atomenergoprom is being carried out according to the schedule. “Last week we submitted to the Government the final version of the relevant resolution. This document specifies the holding’s charter, board of directors, executive and supervisory authorities. We are expecting to get back the approved resolution by the end of this week and to register the company next week, at latest. The state-owned stakes of 30 JSCs, including Techsnabexport and TVEL, will be transferred to the holding’s authorized capital by Aug 1.” “Simultaneously, we are corporizing federal state unitary enterprises. This process will be finished by Nov 2007. By the end of this year the government shares of the newly formed JSC will be transferred to Atomenergoprom’s authorized capital. Thus, by the end of this year the holding will be formed,” Kiriyenko said.
