OREANDA-NEWS. June 28, 2007.  The Scientific and Technical Board of Russian Railways discussed the Company’s strategy for innovative development at its meeting on 27 June 2007.

The main scientific and technical policy of the Company, based on the “Russian Railways White Book,” was presented at the meeting.

According to Vladimir Yakunin, president of Russian Railways, “the White Book should be seen as the basis for the Company’s innovation over the medium-term down to 2015.”

Priorities in innovation include the management system for the shipping process and transport logistics, constructing new infrastructure, introducing new types of rolling stock and traction, perfecting the Company’s quality control system, improving safety and developing high-speed and express trains, which should act as a catalyst for the application of new breakthrough technologies and technical solutions.

The Scientific and Technical Board of Russian Railways approved the strategic scientific and technical directions presented at the meeting.
