OREANDA-NEWS. June 29, 2007. At the home office of OAO Stroytransgaz negotiations were held between Brazil company Transpetro, a subsidiary of Petrobras, Brazil,s national oil and gas company, and OAO Stroytransgaz.

Leonid Bokhanovsky, first vice president of OAO Stroytransgaz informed the members of the delegation, headed by Transpetro’s president, Sergio Machado, about activities of the company that worked successfully for over 15 years in Russia and abroad.

OAO Stroytransgaz has long standing relations with its Brazilian partners. Representatives of this construction-engineering company took part in the two last meetings of intergovernmental commissions, accompanied the Russian Prime-Ministers during their visits to Brazil.  During the visit of Mikhail Fradkov a delegation of OAO Stroytransgaz took part in a special-purpose session of Petrobras, dedicated to development of cooperation between the two countries in the field of energy.  In presence of the members of the Brazilian Government OAO Stroytransgaz made a presentation of its company, having displayed its possibilities and successful examples of cooperation with the major energy companies of the world. Last year the Company received a top delegation of Petrobras.

Sergio Machado told that now it was a very auspicious moment for development of business relation with OAO Stroytransgaz as big tasks were in prospect for increase of production, transport and refining of oil and gas processing in Brazil. On his part Leonid Bokhanovsky made observations that the processes, which were taking place in the continent, created favorable basis for development of Russian-Brazilian cooperation in the field of gas.  In particular, he informed that extensive prospects opened within the frames of the mega-project for construction of a gas pipeline from Venezuela across the territory of Brazil to Argentina, and OAO Stroytransgaz was prepared to take part in that project and also in development of gas infrastructure within the country. 
Taking into account a unique experience of OAO Stroytransgaz in carrying out works of any complexity and in the most extreme conditions, Sergio Machado expressed confidence in capabilities of the Russian Company to realize the assigned objectives, and expressed interestedness in wide cooperation with OAO Stroytransgaz, including construction in the territory of Brazil of pipeline systems for transport of oil, gas and water, oil refining and gas processing plants, gas liquefaction plants, construction of gas distribution systems, gas holders, etc
The parties have agreed on preparation and signing, at the earliest possible time, of a partnership agreement that will serve as a good example for development of cooperation between Russia and Brazil. 

In conclusion Sergio Machado invited the management of OAO Stroytransgaz to visit the head office of Transpetro in Rio de Janeiro.
