A renowned US statesman worked in the US Senate from 1968. He gained national prominence as Chairman of the Republican National Committee from 1971 to 1972. Elected as the Senate Majority Leader in 1984 Senator Dole set a record as the longest serving Republican leader. He resigned from the Senate in 1996 to pursue his campaign for President of the United States. Senator Dole headed a number of social initiatives, for example following September 11, he joined former President Bill Clinton in helping to raise $120 million as Co-Chair of the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund, which will enable families of victims to attend a college or trade school of their choice.

J. Bennett Johnston

J. Bennett Johnston’s public political career spanned 32 years, including eight years in the Louisiana Legislature and 24 years in the United States Senate – in Budget Committee and Committee on Energy and Natural Resources. The secret of his success according to Physics Today was “by doing what he does best: mastering the technical details of arcane topics, forging a bipartisan coalition to back his approach and in negotiating trade-offs and compromises with his opponents”. His career produced a formidable list of legislative triumphs including measures to provide navigation, flood control, hurricane protection, and other infrastructure projects critical to Louisiana’s future. In 2004 Senator Johnston took an active role in the organization of John Kerry’s Presidential campaign. He also served on the Board of a number of Fortune 500 companies in the United States, including “Chevron”, “Columbia Energy Group”. J. Bennett Johnston continues to serve on the Board of “Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold”.

The addition of the two new members possessing invaluable experience in management, the professional level of the Board has been greatly enhanced. According to the shareholders, the new Board of Directors will represent more effectively the interests of the bank’s main stockholders - U.S. and Kyrgyz residents.
