On July 09, 2007 JSC "Polymetal" (LSE, MICEX, RTS: PMTL) announced the appointment of Gennady Kuzmenko as the Managing Director of JSC "Okhotsk mining and geological company" - Polymetal’s subsidiary in the Khabarovsk Territory (the Khakanjinskoye and Yurievskoye deposits), reported the press-centre of JSC "Polymetal".

Mr. Kuzmenko graduated from Saint Petersburg Mining University with a degree in processing engineering. In 2003 he graduated from Saint Petersburg Engineering and Economic University with a degree in economics. Mr. Kuzmenko has 10 years of successful experience in the mining industry.

Since 2004 Mr. Kuzmenko has served as the Deputy Managing Director of Polymetal’s subsidiaries - CJSC "Magadan Silver" (the Dukat deposit) and CJSC "Silver Territories" (the Lunnoye and Arylakh deposits).

Commenting on the announcement, Vitaly Nesis, Polymetal’s CEO, said: "Through the last years JSC "Okhotsk mining and geological company" strengthened its position on the market. At the current moment the Company develops the Yurievskoye deposit. Yurievskoe ore will be treated at the Khakanja processing plant. We believe that Mr. Kuzmenko, known as an experienced and professional manager, will contribute considerably to the future success of the Company".

JSC "Okhotsk mining and geological company" - Polymetal’s subsidiary - operates in the Okhotsk Region of the Khabarovsk Territory (the Khakanjinskoye and Yurievskoye development). For 2006 production output of JSC "Okhotsk mining and geological company" was estimated as 108 koz, Au and 2.0 Moz, Ag.
