OREANDA-NEWS. July 06, 2007. In welcoming his Indonesian colleague to Moscow, Viktor Khristenko emphasized his belief that various issues need to be discussed at corporate, as well as ministerial, level, reported the press-centre of Minprom.

The meeting was actively attended by representatives of the business community: on the Russian side were leaders of the relevant divisions of Gazprom, Lukoil and Rusal, and on the Indonesian side – top managers from the state oil and gas company Pertamina and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Speaking about cooperation in the gas sector, the Russian minister stated: “The gas market needs stable and fair prices. This determines its sustainability and predictability for all.” Indonesia is one of the largest suppliers of gas on the markets of the Asia-Pacific Region. Russia is planning a several-fold increase in gas production on the shelf of the seas of the Far East. The two sides discussed the importance of cooperaiton between gas exporting countries in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Viktor Hristenko informed Mr. Yugsiantoro of the work of the high-level Committee formed to set up the next meeting between gas exporting countries in 2008 in Moscow.
