OREANDA-NEWS. July 29, 2007. A new business center of Bank TuranAlem JSC Atyrau branch was presented on July 18, 2007. The building is located in a budding district of Atyrau City.

Chairman of BTA Roman Solodchenko, Deputy Akim of Atyrau Oblast Sarsenbay Yensegenov, Atyrau City Akim Sanimzhan Nakbayev, Director of Atyrau Branch of the National Bank of Kazakhstan Kozybak Kulbarakov have attended the unveiling ceremony.

During the inauguration, BTA Chairman and other high-ranking guests have highly praised performance of Atyrau and Kulsary branches of BTA. They wished BTA success in fostering its business subdivisions in regions, broader range of banking services and introduction of cutting-edge technologies in the banking business.
  
Between 2001 and 2006, BTA extended over 13,000 credits in the region for a total of more than 39,834 million tenge, including 16,183 million tenge in 2006 alone. Thus, the agribusiness received 58 million tenge of loans, including 10 million tenge in 2006, whereas personal loans made 13,151 million tenge, including 4,790 million tenge in 2006.

Over the stated period, individuals deposited in excess of 4,000 million tenge with the bank, among them more than 1,000 million tenge in 2006 alone. Deposits of legal entities between 2003 and 2006 stood at 4,994 million tenge, including 1,442 million tenge in 2006.

Currently, Bank TuranAlem is a regional leader by retail deposits and lending to SMEs. BTA lent more than 4,790 million tenge to the population and 7,564 million tenge to SMEs in 2006. At the present time, BTA finances a number of major projects in the region. Thus, BatysTransportSim LLP intends to lease almost 90 shuttle buses this year using a loan from the Bank.
  
Major borrowers of the Branch in the civil construction are Atyraustroykompleks and Upravloeniye Stroitelstva 99. Its key retail business clients are ATABA and Atyrau Vivat.

Atyrau Branch also places high emphasis on cooperation with Tengizchevroil and Agip Consortium, and salary projects of a major constructor of the latter, GATE INSAAT JSC.

Almost all major banking products of BTA demonstrated an increased regional market share in 2006. Consumer credits upped from 9.7% to 10.4%, time deposits of entities increased from 9.1% to 10%, retail deposits climbed from 16.6% to 20.1%.

Today, BTA has two branches in Atyrau Oblast located in the cities of Atyrau and Kulsary in addition to 12 cash settlement centers, among which are 10 retail and 2 all-purpose (in the settlements of Dossor and Tengiz). Out of 12 settlement centers, 8 are found in the cities of Atyrau in Kulsary, whereas 4 render services in Dossor, Tengiz, Karabatan and Zhana-Karaton. The Bank also runs an extensive chain of cash dispensers throughout the region. As of July 1, 2007, BTA had 49,123 clients in the region, including 1,207 legal entities, 46,599 individuals and 1,317 private entrepreneurs.

BTA is an eager participant of the region’s daily life. The Bank offers recurring welfare assistance and sponsorship to war and labor veterans, orphan asylums, boarding schools, sporting organizations and non-governmental organizations.
Bank TuranAlem JSC (BTA) is among largest banks and the leader in creation of banking network through CIS. As of May 1, 2007 its assets amounted to $20.4 billion, equity capital made almost $2 billion. In 2007, the Bank intends to consolidate its assets in the CIS making it $50 billion by 2015. The Bank envisages a geographic diversification and booming financial highlights.

In Kazakhstan, BTA’s network consists of 22 branches and 249 cash settlement units. For the period of its activity Bank TuranAlem JSC received several established awards, including "The Best Bank in CIS" and "The Best Bank in Central Asia" were awarded to BTA by Euromoney magazine in 2005. Meanwhile, BTA deal on long-term financing of oil tankers import from Russia to Kazakhstan was acknowledged as the "Best Deal 2005." Another magazine, The Banker, conferred "Bank of the Year in Kazakhstan 2005" status on BTA.

In 2006, Euromoney commission named the Bank "Best FIG Borrower–Emerging Europe 2006" taking into account innovative technologies and products used by BTA on the market. It was the second year in a row, when the National Consumer League of Kazakhstan gave Bank TuranAlem "Irreproachable" Quality Award owing to a quality study of retail banking among the "biggest three banks" of Kazakhstan. Additionally, the Russian financial community and the Itogi magazine declared BTA "Bank of the year 2006."

In 2007, Euromoney named BTA "A Leading Bank in Corporate Governance in Emerging Europe 2006" and recognized it as "The Best Managed Bank in Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia 2007". The Bank also received "Grand Prix" in "Best Bank 2006" nomination by the Social National Award "Golden Altyn."

Moreover, it is the second year in a row, when Bank TuranAlem appears on the TOP 1000 WORLD BANKS rating of The Banker, thus ranking the 295th. The Banker also rated it as the third rapidly growing bank in the "Highest Movers" rating.
