OREANDA-NEWS. Until the beginning of July 2007 VAB Bank has issued more than 42 000 credit cards of the leading international pay systems Visa International and Master Card International, reported the press-centre of VAB Bank.

This means that the amount of the cards handed out by VAB Bank has grown since the beginning of 2007 by almost 17%. The number of emissions of cards by VAB Bank exceeds the average of the other banks of EMA by 1,5 times.

Today the number of cards issued by VAB amount to 310 000, of which 86 500 are MasterCard International and 223 700 Visa International cards. In all 69,8% of them are are debiting cards and 30,2% credit cards.

According to the head of the Department of Retail Business of VAB Bank, Anton Shaperenkov, the rise in the number of cards emitted is due not only to the active realization of projects of salaries with enterprises and budgetary organizations in Ukraine but also due to the expansion of the network in the small towns in the country.

The attained result allows VAB Bank to strengthen its positions in 20th of banks, leading in the domestic market of pay cards. From the data of EMA for the first half of the year VAB Bank occupies the 17th position in the rating of the 74 banks members of EMA.
