OREANDA-NEWS. On July 18, 2007 the Project Management Office was established in Ukrsotsbank, reported the press-centre of Ukrsotsbank.

According to Oleksandr Butenko, the Deputy Head of Ukrsotsbank’s Project Management Office, the establishment of the project office in Ukrsotsbank is an absolutely predictable evolutionary step due to the increasing number of innovative changes within Ukrsotsbank. “Due to them the Bank strengthens its competitive advantages and installs solutions for achieving higher quality of client servicing and internal processes’ management”, - as Oleksandr Butenko confirms.

Realization of innovative changes in form of projects is typical practice for leading international bank groups. Oleksandr Butenko is positive that effective project management will become Ukrsotsbank’s key advantage at entering the multinational UniCredit Group. At present Ukrsotsbank has been accomplishing some mass-scale initiatives and plans installation of numerous new projects that will transform the landscape of the Bank’s informational systems, ensure centralization of the back-office’s supportive functions and optimize business-processes.

For managing such a great number of projects a separate center is required. It will control the process of projects’ realization, maintain the unified methodology and distribute resources. That is why Ukrsotsbank’s management made a decision to establish the Project Management Office within the Bank. The idea of establishing such a division was offered by Borys Tymonkin, the Chairman of Ukrsotbank’s Board, having studied the experience of project management from foreign banks.

Project management in the Bank will be fulfilled on the base of the PMBOK Guide, the world leading project management standard. This will ensure the existence of unified methods and approaches to project management in the Bank.

“Benefits of project management according to the international standard are obvious - we control terms, quality and expenses better”, - as Oleksandr Butenko resumes.
