OREANDA-NEWS. On July 18, 2007 in the course of his visit to Kostanai oblast, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov was accompanied by some members of the Cabinet and heads of public agencies, reported the Official website www.en.government.kz.

In the course of his visit to Kostanai oblast, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov was accompanied by some members of the Cabinet and heads of public agencies.

While in Kostanai city, Prime Minister made a tour round the Aigerim wallpapers-producing plant; attended presentation of anix chemical fiber at the Kostanai chemicals plant; visited the Dostupnoe Zhiliye (Affordable Housing) enterprise which produces   Stramit panels for construction; met representatives of the Kostanai branch of the National Economic Chamber of Kazakhstan; and visited a single-window Citizen service center (a public access point, which can serve as one stop window gateway to government services and information).

In the territory of Zarechny agricultural area, K. Massimov attended an exhibition of agricultural equipment and met the oblast’s producers of agroproducts. A key speaker at the meeting was Kazakh Agriculture Minister Akhmetzhan Esimov. The meeting focused on the forthcoming harvest campaign, as well as on the farmers’ needs.

Prime Minister observed the production process at the Kostanai-based diesel plant, which is a part of the AgroMashHolding JSC. 

Chairman of the Board of the AgroMashHolding JSC Mr. Victor Kim presented projects to further develop the company; overall investments required are estimated at USD 380 million. The projects are intended to renew the agricultural machines and tractor fleet, apply some technology, decrease dependence on imports, and create national machinery-building sector which is of great importance in view of Kazakhstan’s accession into the WTO.

Among the projects presented there was AgriMarket project (establishment of a modern network of storages around large populated centers). Another project is to launch manufacturing of industrial machines designed by local engineers. A third project is creation of an engineering center in partnetship with AVL List GmbH. The major project presented by the AgroMashHolding JSC is to start manufacturing of 1.5l diesel engines. This project is estimated at USD 250 million.
