OREANDA-NEWS. July 09, 2007. In January 2008, a project will be launched intended to develop the infrastructure of the Batken-Pulgon bypass road, reported the press-centre of IBC.

The project was proposed, and will be run, by the Osh branch of the International Business Council (IBC) public association, with financial assistance of the OSCE local bureau. The decision was made during the meeting of the IBC Osh office with the Batken oblast’s governor Sultanbai Aijigitov.

The task of building the oblast’s transportation system is of strategic importance not only to Kyrgyzstan, but also to neighboring Tajikistan and China. The project plan provides for establishing 16 business units (gas stations, maintenance shops, public catering facilities, sales outlets, etc.) and paying for licensing services of state bodies. This will make it possible to complete construction works and hold an open auction.

Money received from selling the title to the land plots, along with a full set of permissive documents for construction of commercial premises, will be transferred into the account of the Batken oblast’s Road Fund, in order to help maintain the regional road infrastructure, encourage entrepreneurship, and attract more investors.
