OREANDA-NEWS. July 27, 2007. The deputy chief engineers for operation of all 10 Russian NPPs met at Kursk NPP on July 25–26 to sum up the results of Jan-June 2007 and to make plans for July-Dec 2007.
 
The heads of the Technical Directorate, the Central Control Department and the General Inspection of Rosenergoatom Concern as well as representatives of Atomenerogpoject, VNIIAES, Research and Development Institute of Power Engineering and Kurchatov Institute took part in the conference.

They discussed a number of problems concerning Rosenergoatom’s activities on the competitive electricity market, heard reports on incidents at Rosenergoatom NPPs in Jan-June 2007 and on the results of nuclear safety inspections.

In his report the first deputy technical director of Rosenergoatom Yuri Kopyov said: “In Jan-June 2007 the nuclear power plants of Russia produced a total of 78.927bln KWh, which is 100.4% of the plan and 102.2% of the index of Jan-June 2006. The capacity factor made up 78.2% against 76.5% a year before. No incidents with radioactive consequences were registered during the period. The level of radioactive emission was much lower than allowed.”

The conferees expressed satisfaction with the results of the first half of the year and outlined safety and efficiency enhancement measures for the second half.
