OREANDA-NEWS. July 31, 2007. For covering the growing electrical loads and non-stop electricity supply of extensively constructed residential quarters of Tatarstan capital the Grid Company of "Tatenergo" holding began construction of aerial line (HVL) 110 kV CHPP-3-Severnaya. Construction of this electricity transmission line will provide additional transit of power from Kazan CHPP-3. It will be ringed with the line of CHPP-2 – CHPP-3, which would increase the guarantee of non-stop electricity supply to consumers.

Aerial lines 110 kV are resource capable objects, this explains their high cost. In view of this administration of the holding searches new designs of piles and construction technologies which application allows to reduce resource consumption and accordingly, the cost of construction of such HVL. Construction of HTL CHPP-3-Severnaya is done by erection of foundations of supports on screw piles.

Screw piles have high bearing capacity both for compressive and pulling loads and can be used in various ground conditions. Such qualities of the screw pile can be explained by the fact that during the screwing the inter-winding gaps of the ground do not mellow, and on the contrary, they get compressed by its blade. Construction of HVL pile foundations using the screw pile swill not require pit digging, that will result in considerable reduction of labor and promote environmental awareness.

Unique design of screw pile handsets allow to drive them with no axial loads, and this preserves the outside grass coverage. Installation of the pile on the foundation of screw piles may done immediately after screwing. Lack of vibration and noise during pile driving allow to use the technology in close proximity to residential houses, heat and gas lines. Application of the screw piles allows to do construction of HVL with no stagger of underground pipelines in town conditions.

The length of the constructed line of CHPP-3-Severnaya is 10 km. At the plant will be installed 15 corner supports supported by screw piles. Screw pile driving, assembling the foundations by staff of "Oblik, ltd" (Yekaterinburg). Design of screw piles, mounted on the new line, was developed by famous engineer, PhD V.N.Zhelezkov who is 81 years old. Despite the years, he personally came to control tests of piles by static load, that are done by Kazan division of JSC ЗАО "Tyazhpromkomplekt". Assembly will be done by "Farsil, ltd". Construction of the new line 110 kV CHPP-3-Severnaya will be finished this year.
