OREANDA-NEWS. On July 26, 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) has started inspecting the soundness of sales prices on the oil products, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The issue is related to the reasons for chancing sales prices on motor petrol and diesel fuel by the oil refinery companies - members of a group of persons.

FAS Russia will investigate the reasons for changing the sales prices on the oil products from 20th June 2007 to 25th July 2007 and analyze the pricing methods.

Inquiries have been sent to "LUKOIL" OJSC, "Gazprom Neft' [Oil]" OJSC, "Surgutneftegaz" OJSC, "TNK-BP Management" OJSC, "NK "Rosneft'" OJSC, "NK "Alliance" OJSC, "NGK "Slavneft'" OJSC and "NK "RussNeft'" OJSC.

The decision is part of the antimonopoly review procedures and comes under Article 25 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" (an obligation to present information to an antimonopoly authority).

If a company fails to present the documentation or other information requested by the federal antimonopoly authority by 13th August 2007 or presents misleading information, it will be charged with administrative violation.
