OREANDA-NEWS. OAO Stroytransgaz successfully completed hydrotesting of the 2nd spread of Sougueur-Hadjret Ennous gas pipeline in Algeria.

Construction of this gas pipeline is being fulfilled within the frame of the contract concluded between Algerian national company Sonatrach and OAO Stroytransgaz on EPC terms (engineering, delivery of pipes, production equipment, materials and construction of gas pipe line).

The gas pipeline of the total length of 272.8 km, was divided into two spreads: the first spread is 194.4 km long, the second spread - 78.4 km long.

The scope of works includes construction of departure and arrival terminals, 12 linear valve stations, 3 scraper catching/launching stations, 19 tie-ins, as well as SCADA system, telecommunications, gas leak detection, fire fighting, electrochemical protection, automated control and a system of measurement and testing of equipment.

Completion of hydro-testing of the linear part of the 1st spread and construction and installation works of gas pipeline facilities are envisaged by the end of August 2007.

The aim of the Project is provision with natural gas of electrical power station Hadjret Ennouss in Tipaza province, capacity 1 200 mV, and settlements of the central part of the country.

Today construction of Sougeur-Hadjret Ennouss gas pipeline is one of the largest EPC projects of nationwide significance in Algeria which is being implemented by Russian contractor.
