OREANDA-NEWS. On July 31, 2007 the new IL-76TD-90VD aircraft powered by PS-90A-76 engines produced by Perm Engine Co. made its maiden flight at Tashkent Aviation Amalgamation (TAPO), reported the press-centre of Volga-Dnepr Airline.

The trial flight lasted three hours. As Ildar Milushev, Perm Engine Co. authorized representative in Tashkent, said there were no remarks made to PS-90A-76 engines.

Late in August the aircraft will be conveyed to Volga-Dnepr Airline. It is the second
IL-76TD-90VD aircraft, which will be operated by the Airline. Volga-Dnepr Airline acquired the first IL-76TD-90VD aircraft with Perm PS-90A-76 engines the year before.

Gennady Pivovarov, General Director of Volga-Dnepr Airline, said that putting into service IL-76TD-90VD aircraft that meet all current ICAO requirements made it possible to increase the lift capacity of IL-76 cargo aircraft and widen territories covered by aircraft flights. “IL-76TD-90VD finds way to previously closed for it aerodromes of West Europe, Australia and Japan. Early in 2007 the aircraft made its first for the last seven years fight to the United States of America”.

PS-90A-76 is a modified model of PS-90A, which is designed for re-engine of existing IL-76 aircraft and powering of new modifications of the aircraft. PS-90A-76 meets ICAO 2008 harmful emissions requirements (Amendment 5) and makes aircraft compliant with current and future noise standards.

Like world analogs, PS-90A-76 has no limitations for maximum MTBO and assigned service life.
