OREANDA-NEWS. On August 08, 2007 Robertas Tamusauskas, the first attache for Republic of Lithuania currency and banking issues, has started his work in Brussels, the Permanent Representation of Lithuania to the European Union, reported the press-centre of Bank of Lithuania.

Employee of the Bank of Lithuania is appointed for a three-year term of office. Previously he held the position of Deputy Director of the International Relations Department.

The attache for currency and banking issues will collect and provide information to the Bank of Lithuania on the issues of Economic and Monetary Union, payment systems and services, stability of the financial sector and other issues related to the activity and functions of the central bank discussed in the institutions of the European Union.

The newly appointed attache will also provide information to the European Commission on the issues related to the activity and functions of the Bank of Lithuania as well as participate in the activities of institutions, committees and working groups.

When fulfilling his responsibilities, attache for the Republic of Lithuania currency and banking issues in Brussels, will co-operate with the representatives of other institutions, activities of which relate to the Bank of Lithuania.
