OREANDA-NEWS. Anatoly Merzlyakov started his career in the power industry as chief engineer at Dankov TPP “Lipetskenergoin 1984.

Prior to this post, from 1970 to 1972 served in the USSR Armed Forces (saw action in Egypt); 1972-1979 studied in Moscow University of Power Engineering and worked as shop foreman at Dankov chemical plant. 
 
Seven years later, in 1991 Anatoly Merzlyakov headed Dankov TPP “Lipetskenergo”, then in 1994 was appointed Deputy Technical Director of JS “Lipetskenergo”. In 1996 was appointed Deputy General Director for Production of JSC “Lipetskenergo”, then in 1997 – the First Deputy General Director  - Technical Director of JSC “Lipetskenergo”, and in 1998 Mr. Merzlyakov was appointed General Director of JSC “Lipetskenergo”. At the same time from 2002 to 2006 Anatoly Merzlyakov was a councilor of Lipetsk Regional Council. 

Anataly Merzlyakov was appointed the Head of JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” Upper-Volga Directorate in 2006, and Deputy General Director  - Head of JSC “IDGC of Center and North Caucasus” Upper-Volga Directorate in 2007.

Anatoly Merzlyakov is Member of the International Academy of Real Economy and honored with the industry awards: “Honored Power Engineer”, “ Honored Worker of RF Ministry of Fuel and Energy”, “”UES of Russia” Honored Worker”, “FEC Honored Worker”. Mr. Merzlyakov has also been awarded the “80 Years of the Electrification Plan of Russia” and “For Distinguished Service in the Russian Power Industry” merit badges.
