Then a motorcade went to Mariupol commercial sea port, where they were met by the port’s leaders, headed by Mr.Alexey Rosinskiy, the sea-port’s caretaking director. During a short talk with a brigade of dockers, that took place on the pier, Mr.Alexander Moroz, promised them to help solve a problem, which had been on the agenda for many a year- to raise a question of purchasing a new ice-breaker for Mariupol port, the necessity of which the port workers had been proving in rooms of various high-ranked officials. The city’s mayor, Mr.Y.Khotlubey pointed out the vital necessity of raising money into the city’s budget, and for that purpose he proposed to raise wages of port workers. The port workers gave their consent, but said that it had to be economically substantiated. Mr.Boyko, people’s deputy of Ukraine, said that in order to fill in the city’s budget it is necessary to raise the question of lessening cash withdrawals on the highest level. It is worthwhile mentioning that this year cash withdrawal form the city’s budget is 110 million of hryvnas, while the entire budget of the city of Mariupol amounts to 450 million of hryvnas-Mr.Y.Khotlubey pointed out , though this year we managed “to save” 20 million, with a little help from our people’s deputies, so we have 470 million on aggregate. ”But “Ilyich” works allocates about 444 million every year to finance its social programs”-Mr. Boyko added-“You may count it as another city’s budget”.

Next stop was “The Seagull” prophylactic sanatorium, where the guests examined its comfortable wards and appreciated the level of medical cabinets, thus letting Mr. Moroz to conclude: ”Medical establishments of such level are extremely rare in the Ukraine. This is a direct result of the fact that a big enterprise had got into the honest hands of professionals, taking care of needs and interests of the entire staff, rather than pursuing self-profit. The guests met persons on vacation in the assembly hall and answered a series of their questions. Talking about Mariupol and its residents, Mr.Moroz said: ”I am a patriot of Kiev, but being here, visiting you I can notice that the Kiev residents are somehow different: each one lives his own life and his own problems. There is a feeling of complicity in you, you quickly react to what is happening in the country and you are not indifferent to the way Ukraine will take.

“Ilyich plant-is a prototype of the foundation, upon which state should be built. And I am thankful to Mariupol electors for their having chosen such representatives as V.S.Boyko and S.A. Matvienkov to the Supreme Council of the country. They are people of knowledge and have the sense of responsibility before their electors and the country.”

Alexander Moroz had a chance to communicate with a wide audience at the palace of metallurgists, talking about the necessity of the second stage of the political reform and explaining the danger of revising the country’s constitution.
