OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2007. in the course of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in the presence of heads of SOC states, the SOC Interbank Consortium and the SCO Business Council entered into an Agreement on Cooperation in Bishkek.

For the SCO Interbank Consortium, the Agreement was signed by the SCO Council Chairman, Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and for the SCO Business Council – Management Board Chairman Dmitri Mezentsev.

This Agreement sets the format for long-term partner relations between the two leading entities in the SCO economic zone and lays the foundation for equal practical cooperation in various fields.

The Agreement provides for establishing a single data base on investment projects proposed to be carried out within the SCO, for exchanging business offers, as well as for coordinating actions in the information sector to provide extensive and objective coverage of economic cooperation in the SCO. It also provides for cooperation in personnel training and in working out specialist development programs for specialists to work in the SCO economic sector.

The two sides also agreed upon making joint efforts to prepare and hold meetings, arrange business trips and other events associated with carrying out joint projects.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Interbank Consortium was established on October 26, 2005. It incorporates the Kazakhstan Development Bank, the China State Development Bank, the Settlement and Savings Company (Kyrgyzia), the Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank), the Tajikistan National Bank and the Uzbekistan National Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs. In 2006 – 2007 Vnesheconombank is to preside over the SCO Interbank Consortium.
