OREANDA-NEWS. August 20, 2007. Within the working visit of Gazprom delegation to Sochi, Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee has moderated a meeting on the Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline engineering and construction.

Attending the meeting were heads and specialists of the core business units of Gazprom, Gazpromtransgaz-Kuban and Piter Gaz.

The participants discussed major technical issues of the Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline construction with reference to forecast of increased natural gas consumption in the region.

The meeting specified that the Dzhubga-Lazarevskoye-Sochi gas pipeline construction will provide stable and uninterrupted gas supply to the resort area of the Caucasian Black Sea coast as well as improve gas supply to Sochi - the 2014 Winter Olympic Games capital. Additionally, natural gas utilization for heat and power generation will stimulate sustainable environmental situation in the region.

As the result of the meeting the Gazprom core business units and Piter Gaz were tasked to update and complete the project.
