OREANDA-NEWS. On August 27, 2007 the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) considered an administrative violation case initiated against "Banana-Mama" Ltd. for the advertisement placed on billboards in Moscow and in the Internet at www.bananamama.ru. The Company used in its advertisement the expression "Bananamama - № 1 chain of children store in Russia в России" and comparative description "№1 in Russia" without specifying the comparison criterion, reported the press-centre of  FAS Russia.

Having considered the case, the Antimonopoly Service imposed administrative charges upon "Banana-Mama" Ltd. and fined the Company for 40 000 Rubles.

On 15th August 2007, FAS Russia found that the advertisement was improper and breached Parts 2 and 3 Article 5 of the Federal Law "On Advertising" and requested "Banana-Mama" Ltd. to stop violating the advertising legislation.
