OREANDA-NEWS. On September 05, 2007 Bank TuranAlem JSC (Almaty), shares and bonds of which are traded in Kazakhstan stock exchange's (KASE) category "A" official list, provided KASE with the press-release of next contention, reported the press-centre of KASE:

Group Bank TuranAlem JSC by results of activity in the first half-year of 2007 had significantly fixed its positions on the market of banking services of Kazakhstan.

Consolidated assets of BTA Group for the period from December 31, 2006 till June 1, 2007 increased by 47% - to $24,0 bn. from $16,3 bn., balanced shareholders equity - correspondingly by 94% - to $2,97 bn. from $1,53 bn..

Net income of BTA group in January - June 2007 increased compared to similar period of year 2006 by 70% - to $331,8 m. from $194,6 m. and exceeded net annual income of year 2066 ($308 m.).

Net percentage margin made 5,3% that is by 26% larger than in year 2006 (4,2%).

Income on average total shareholders equity made 33,4% in annual expression.

Crediting of small and middle business for the first half-year of 2007 increased by $833 m. or by 58% making $2266 m., increasing the stake of BTA group on this market of banking services from 16,4% as for beginning of year to 22,2% as of end of half-year.

Provision of financial services to retail sector increased by $1466 m. or 60%, making $3929 m.

By results of first half-year the deposit base of BTA Group made $2,447 m., increasing since the beginning of year by $693 m. or by 40%.

In the first half-year of year 2007 BTA Group had successfully conduced the borrowing on the external borrowings markets for the total amount of $2,5 bn.

In the second half-year of 2007 Group is planning to concentrate on diversification of sources of financing by securitization of assets and structuring of deals.

Information is provided on the basis of financial reports, prepared in accordance with International standards of financial statements.

Except this on the press-conference the managers of Bank informed about conduction on September 26-27 of the VIII Almaty Interbanks' conference, organizer of which is Bank TuranAlem.

It is expected that this year the conference will become the record in amount of participants and guests. In particular it is planned that in the frames of the conference more than 400 participants from almost 30 countries are indent to estimate risks in banking sector, examine the problems on capital markets, discuss the competitive advantages of dominate exchanges, analyze the successful models of introduction of Islamic banking in the world and possibility of application of this experience in Kazakhstan and CIS, and also consider the problems of development of retail crediting and perspectives of union of banking systems on the post-soviet area.

Meanwhile the main burden of the future Almaty inetrbanks' conference will become the conduction of first session of organization committee of Eurasian Bankers' Club (EBC). BTA being one of the largest private financial institutions in CIS, acts with support of initiative of President of RK Nursultan Nazarbayev about creation of Eurasian Bankers' Club.

Managers of BTA consider that participants of financial market of Eurasian countries need to understand the effectiveness of cooperation to new level, which will let to solve the strategic tasks before the economies of countries and in full measure realize the available integration potential. Activity of EBC will promote the development of necessary multi-sides economic cooperation.
