OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2007. From September 03 till September 10 “Aeroflot – Russian Airlines” OJSC polls passengers at the company’s web-site at www.aeroflot.ru. The aim of this poll is to get additional data to improve the system of Internet sales and electronic ticketing, reported the press-centre of Aeroflot.

All the visitors of the site are offered 10 questions including the following: “Do you use electronic tickets?”, “How would you estimate the Aeroflot Internet service?”, “What do you think about the possibility to register for flights through the Internet?”, “Are you afraid of fraud when making payments through the Internet?” etc.

The poll will make it possible to form an estimate of the passenger’s opinion about the Aeroflot Internet sales services as well as to analyze the spread of the new technologies: Internet sales services, self-service check-ins at the airport, purchase of electronic tickets. The poll’s results will help to discover the weaknesses and problems which will be included into the improvement program of Aeroflot Internet services’. The first Internet conference “Improvement of the Internet sales system of Aeroflot OJSC” of the Aeroflot commercial director Aleksey Sidorov takes place on September 12.

Aeroflot is the first among the Russian carries which has improved and opened the sales of full-featured electronic tickets. The system of automatic centralized issue of sales checks for the purchased electronic tickets has also been prepared in compliance with the requirements of the Russian law. The general volume of the electronic tickets issued by Aeroflot has exceeded 100 thousand for the six months.

Today the e-ticketing technology is supported on the 40 airline’s routes. Their number will grow up to 60 by the end of the year. And by 2008 Aeroflot will be able to provide 100% switch to e-tickets in compliance with IATA requirements.

More then 40 thousand e-tickets to the amount of 16,8 million USD were sold through the web-site in 2006. The site is actively used as a source of information about the Aeroflot flights: approximately 200 thousand potential passengers submit 750 thousand queries through the company’s web-site monthly.
