OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2007. State-run oil major Rosneft plans to bring its annual oil output to 140-145mn tons by 2012 and to become one of the top three energy companies in the world, its chief executive Sergei Bogdanchikov announced in a TV interview, reported the press-centre of Northgaz.

This year Rosneft set the target to extract 103mn tons of oil, he said. To compare, last year the company produced only 80mn tons of oil.Rosneft became the leading domestic oil extracting and refining company after this year it acquires most of the assets of bankrupt oil company Yukos at several auctions.Before that, Rosneft hoped to extract only 100mn tons of oil by 2010.
