OREANDA-NEWS. In the course of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s formal visit to Australia, the State Corporation “The Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs Vnesheconombank)” and Macquarie Bank Limited, Australia’s leading investment bank, signed an Agreement on Cooperation.

The Agreement was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and Macquarie Bank Limited Managing Director Nicholas W Moore.

The Agreement aims to establish long-term partner relations in investment financing, promote and structure trade and economic relations between Russia and Australia. The Agreement is also aimed at expanding the range of banking services the two sides offer to their customers involved in conducting trade transactions in Russia and CIS countries.

Under the Document the two sides are determined to finance investment projects in the said regions among other things within public-private partnership and to jointly perform guarantee and insurance operations. Top priority is to be given to projects in such sectors as power engineering, mechanical engineering, shipbuilding, aircraft construction as well as to infrastructure and environment protection projects.
