OREANDA-NEWS. OJSC “GAO VVC” became the winner of an open tender of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation for arrangement and holding of the Russian National Exhibition in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), press-service of the company announced.Pursuant to Decree No 1853-r of the Government of the Russian Federation dated December 29, 2006, Tashkent (Uzbekistan) will host the Russian National Exhibition.

The Exhibition will be take place in the territory of OJSC “NVK Uzbekexpocenter” Exhibition Center from November 28 to December 2, 2007. The Exhibition is organized under the auspices of the Government of the Russian Federation and with the participation of federal and regional executive authorities and the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.The organizers of the Exhibition include the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

As resolved by the Tender Subcommittee of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation, OJSC “GAO All-Russia Exhibition Center” will act as the national exhibition operator. The Exhibition will be conducted with a view to promoting commercial and economic relations, extending cooperation in the social and humanitarian area and enhancing business and cultural contacts between Russia and Uzbekistan.

Today, Uzbekistan is one of major trade partners of Russia in Central Asia. In terms of the mutual trade volume, Uzbekistan ranks fourth among CIS countries. The Russian share in Uzbekistan’s sales turnover amounts to 19%.More than 70 regions of Russia are successfully cooperating with their Uzbek partners. Opened to Russia and Uzbekistan are vast prospects of cooperation in small- and medium-sized business areas. There are over 300 ventures with Russian interest registered in Uzbekistan, about 40 of them wholly owned by Russia. In the structure of bilateral relations priority is given to development of the essential areas of economy, primarily fuel and energy sector, chemical and food industries, agribusiness, automotive industry, electric power engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace industry and other science-intensive sectors.

An extensive business program is planned in conjunction with the Exhibition, involving chief executives of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and Russia, chambers of commerce and industry, unions of industrialists and entrepreneurs, other non-government organizations and business quarters of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation.
