OREANDA-NEWS. September 17, 2007. A delegation of nuclear power engineers from Southern Bavaria have started their one-week visit to Novovoronezh NPP today, Sept 17, in the framework of the bilateral scientific-technical cooperation agreement between Novovoronezh NPP and Gundremmingen NPP (Germany).

The delegation is led by the head of the Personnel and Social Security Department of Gundremimingen NPP Hans-Peter Meier. His colleagues represent the plant’s repairs, personnel, technical, medical and other departments. During the visit they will meet with their counterparts from Novovoronezh NPP to discuss a wide range of problems (the preliminary agenda consists of several pages). The sides will work no less than 10 hours a day.

Besides meetings, the German guests will be taken on excursions to Voronezh and Voronezh region.

The agreement between Novovoronezh and Gundremmingen NPPs has been signed in the framework of the Cooperation Program among the WANO Moscow Center member states. The sides regularly exchange visits. A total of 20 business visits have taken place so far.

Gundremmingen NPP consists of three boiling water reactors. The 1st unit was decommissioned in 1980, the other two operate at a total capacity of 1310MW.
