OREANDA-NEWS. September 20, 2007. Russian hardware producer Severstal-Metiz, part of Severstal group, supplied to clients 540,800 tonnes of metal products in the first half of 2007, up 2.6 pct year-on-year, the company said in a press release on September 13, 2007. The company's revenue stood at 12.96 bln Russian roubles ($511.2 mln/368.6 mln euro) for the first six months of 2007, up 38.4 pct on the year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) totalled 1.1 bln roubles ($43.4 mln/31.3 mln euro) in the reported period, up 39.7 pct year-on-year.

Severstal-Metiz incorporates Russian plants Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant (ChSPZ) in Cherepovets, northwestern Russia; Orel Steel Rolling Plant (OSPAZ) in Orel, 320 km south of Moscow; and VolgoMetiz in Volgograd, southern Russia. On February 17, 2006 the company acquired a stake in Ukrainian Dneprometiz.

On April 10, 2006 Severstal-Metiz became a shareholder in British company Carrington Wire Ltd.
