OREANDA-NEWS. System Capital Management (SCM) made a presentation of its corporate social responsibility strategy and case studies of its community relations programmes, the Company's press-release says. The presentation was made at a seminar for journalists organised by the Eurasia Foundation and Expert magazine which took place in Donetsk on September 18.

The day-long event was opened by Vladimir Ishkov, Deputy Chairman of Donetsk Oblast Council, and a series of lectures, presentations and case studies led by representatives from leading Ukrainian and international businesses and from the Eurasia Foundation and the Confederation of Employers of Ukraine took place. The Seminar's afternoon session featured case studies and interactive workshops for journalists covering the challenges faced and skills needed for reporting accurately on CSR.

Jock Mendoza-Wilson, Director of International and Investor Relations for System Capital Management, who was one of the key-note speakers at the event, said:  "It is important for leading businesses such as SCM to explain the major contribution they make to developing Ukrainian society and the communities that we are part of. Seminars like this help to ensure a good dialogue between regional government, NGOs, business and the media. In particular, the seminar helps the media to understand the role business should play in the community and how CSR activities should be reported in the media based on best international practices."
