OREANDA-NEWS. September 21, 2007.  “Metal supply and sales”: Zlatoust Metallurgical Works (part of the metallurgical Group of companies “ESTAR”) received the first shipment of the equipment for the first construction stage of the New Zlatoust Electrometallurgical Works (NZEMW). On the 20th of August 44 containers with more than 500 t of cargo were shipped from the Outokumpu plant (Sweden) in the port of Degerfors. The cargo was shipped by water transport to Perm and Ufa and finally, on heavy haulers – to Zlatoust.

The plant received the first shipment: electrical equipment, furnaces and CC machines, water-cooling and gas-cleaning systems, mechanical equipment and construction parts. At present the equipment containers are stored in a special warehouse. Mounting of the first installations is scheduled for November, 2007. Other containers will arrive, according to the contract, in a period of 60 days and the oversize cargo – in 90 days.

In the framework of the reconstruction programme of the enterprise a new special steels plant will be constructed on the ZMP site – the New Zlatoust Electrometallurgical Works (NZEMW). The foundation was laid on May 25th, the day of the official celebration of the 105th anniversary of the Zlatoust Metallurgical Works. The investments in the first stage of the enterprise reconstruction will reach approximately ?75 mln.
