OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2007. This week commissioning works of the new cracked gas furnace of Holland company “Technip Benelux B.V.” were started. Works are carried out with participation of personnel of “Technip” company and will continue up to the middle of October.

We would like to remind that it is the second new furnace at II line gas separation of the Ethylene plant. Liquid feedstock cracked gas furnace, designed and supplied by “Linde”, was the first. Furnace construction is one of the stages of expansion of existing ethylene production with ethylene capacity increase from 400 000 to 605 000 tons per a year. This program is realized according to JSC “Kazanorgsintez” Strategic development plan till 2012 year.

Holland furnace works on main feedstock – ethane in volume of 35,86 t/h, including recycle ethane (14,5 t/h) adding recycle propane 200 kg/h, that will let get ethylene in volume of 18,3 t/h from both furnace chambers.

According to the basic design of ethylene plant revamp, prepared by “Technip” company, the block E-500, that is the subsidiary equipment for every line, also will be designed. Now assembly of the cracked gas preparation unit of E-500 section that is on the II line is carrying out. This unit includes cracked gas water washing unit (that will come from “Technip” cracked gas furnace), boiler feed water for this furnace and also secondary delusion steam unit.

After completion of commissioning works in November the new furnace will process hydrocarbon feedstock with cracked gas supply to cracked gas compressor to “Ethylene-100”. This process will let begin “Technip” furnace operation and put into operation cracked gas preparation unit E-500. So it will reduce commissioning works, planned for 2008, according to design of ethylene plant revamp.

Now assembly of equipment, which is supplied for E-500 construction completion by stages, is in process. It includes equipment for E-500 gas separating sections and reinstalled cold box “Ethylene-100” (where, according to design, methane-hydrogen cut with minimum ethylene loss will be produced from cracked gas).

Moreover, according to creation plan of the unit E-500, pipes parts tie-in in existing technological pipelines was arranged during overhaul of the Ethylene plant this year. It will provide startup of the “Technip” furnace and operation of the complex E-500 (with minimum stand time for ethylene production).
