OREANDA-NEWS. September 24, 2007. Since 2001 Rostekhnadzor has granted Rosenergoatom licenses for extending the service lives of 11 nuclear power units operated by 5 of 10 Russian nuclear power plants.

The plants are: Kursk NPP (units 1 and 2), Leningrad NPP (units 1 and 2), Bilibino NPP (units 1–4), Novovoronezh NPP (units 3 and 4), Kola NPP (units 1 and 2).

The licensing followed inspections of the units and complex examination of their license and nuclear and radiation safety documentation.

— Unit 1 of Kursk NPP: Launched in 1976. License granted Oct 19 2006. Valid till Dec 19 2016;

— Unit 1 of Leningrad NPP. Launched in 1973. License granted Oct 19 2006. Valid till Oct 19 2012;

— Unit 2 of Leningrad NPP. Launched in 1975. License granted July 11 2005. Valid till July 12 2008;

— Unit 1 of Bilibino NPP. Launched in 1973. License granted Oct 15 2004. Valid till Jan 12 2009;

— Unit 2 of Bilibino NPP. Launched in 1974. License granted Dec 28 2004. Valid till Dec 25 2009;

— Unit 3 of Bilibino NPP. Launched in 1975. License granted Dec 29 2005. Valid till Dec 30 2010;

— Unit 4 of Bilibino NPP. Launched in 1976. License granted Dec 28 2006. Valid till Dec 28 2016;

— Unit 3 of Novovoronezh NPP. Launched in 1971. License granted Dec 29 2006. Valid till Dec 29 2016;

— Unit 4 of Novovoronezh NPP. Launched in 1972. License granted Dec 31 2003. Valid till Dec 31 2008;

— Unit 1 of Kola NPP. Launched in 1973. License granted June 27 2003. Valid till July 6 2008;

— Unit 2 of Kola NPP. Launched in 1974. License granted June 30 2006. Valid till June 30 2009.
