OREANDA-NEWS. COMSTAR-United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS) acted as a partner of Annual All-Russia contest "Transparent Line" for the best treatment of telecommunication theme in mass media. Sergey Pridantsev, President of the Company, joined the competent jury of the competition, headed by Leonid Reyman.

Sponsor of the competition - Ministry of Information and Telecommunication of the Russian Federation and MediaUnion - an All-Russia independent organization, uniting all sectors of the mass media throughout Russia. Its goal is to encourage creative activity of journalists and mass media, dealing with coverage of telecommunication theme. All representatives of mass media and free-lance authors can participate in the contest if their reporting, commented events, feature stories and articles were published all-over the territory of Russia on and after the 1st of January 2007 through 1st of January 2008 (detailed information about conditions of participation is on Web site http://www.mediasoyuz.ru/). Announcement of the competition results and awarding of its winners will take place in February 2008, in Moscow.

“Transparent Line” contest is conducted for the second time. More than 90 editorial offices from 30 RF regions participated in it in 2006, jury had to rate more than 200 works. This year journalists will compete in five main nominations: TV, radio, print media, Internet media and specialized media. Besides, two special awards were established within the frames of the contest - "For the theme loyalty" and "For constructive criticism".

Jury of “Transparent Line” contest comprises 11 experts - well-known journalists, mass media executives and heads of leading telecom companies, Chairman of the jury is the Minister of Information technologies and telecommunications - Leonid Reyman. This year Sergey Pridantsev, President of COMSTAR-UTS, became a member of the jury.

“COMSTAR-UTS is glad to have the opportunity to support professional journalism”, - Sergey Pridantsev says. - “We believe that this is a very important indicator of real situation in the industry”. Head of COMSTAR-UTS encourage capital and regional journalists to submit as many as creative ideas and up-to-date materials as possible. “We established a special prize for a participant who would submit the biggest amount of works to be rated by the jury” - Sergey Pridantsev mentioned.
