OREANDA NEWS. This week commissioning works of the new cracked gas furnace of Holland company Technip Benelux B.V.  were started at the ethylene plant of Kazanorgsintez. Works are carried out with participation of personnel of Technip company and will continue up to the middle of October, the Kazanorgsintez press-service reported.

It is a second new furnace at the line of gas separation at the ethylene plant. Liquid feedstock cracked gas furnace, designed and supplied by Linde, had been the first one. Holland furnace works on main feedstock ethane in volume of 35,86 t/h, including recycled ethane (14,5 t/h), adding recycled propane 200 kg/h, that will allow getting ethylene 18,3 t/h in volume terms from both furnace chambers.

After completion of commissioning works in November the new furnace will process hydrocarbon feedstock with cracked gas supply to cracked gas compressor Ethylene-100 . This process will allow Technip  to begin furnace operation and put into operation cracked gas preparation unit E-500. So,  it will reduce commissioning works, planned for 2008, according to the project of the ethylene plant revamp.

Furnace construction is one of the stages of existing ethylene production expansion, due to which ethylene capacity of the plant has to increasedfrom 400 000 to 605 000 tons per year. This program is realized according to the JSC  Kazanorgsintez's  Strategic development plan until 2012.
