OREANDA-NEWS. According to the data disclosed by Rosenergoatom with reference to the information department of Leningrad NPP, since the beginning of this year Leningrad NPP has fulfilled 100.3% of the plan. The plant has produced 18.095 bln KWh – 62mln KW more than planned.

On the status of the plant:

Units 1 and 4 are in service.Unit 2 was stopped on Sept 28 for the second stage of modernization.
Unit 3 is also being modernized. Since Apr 1, 2002, Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant has been branch of the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “Russian State Concern for the Production of Electric and Thermal Power at Nuclear Power Plants” (“Rosenergoatom” Concern). The plant operates 4 units with RBMK reactors 1000 MW each.

The life of the 1st unit has been prolonged for 15 years, the 2nd unit - for 5 years, and after the current modernization – will be prolonged for 15 years.

In 2006, LNPP produced 23.178 bln KWh against planned 21.330 bln KWh. Since its launch the plant has generated the total of 730bln KWh.

According to the source, an international conference on the results of the In-Depth Safety Assessment program is starting at Leningrad NPP on Oct 2. Representatives of both national and European research institutes are expected to attend the event.
