OREANDA-NEWS. The exhibition will last till Oct 5 in the framework of II International Nuclear Forum. This exhibition is part of the events conducted with the support of Rosatom, reported the press-centre of Atomexpo.

15 nuclear companies are taking part in the event with a view to demonstrate their latest projects, technologies and products. Among them are TVEL, Elemash, Mining Chemical Combine, Mayak PA, Lutch, Aileron, NIIAR, Research Institute of Measuring Systems, VNIIAES, Hydropress, Sverd Engineering and Fabrication Company, State Research Center for Machine Building Technologies, Elektrogorsk Research Center for Nuclear Reactor Safety.

The key topics of the exhibition are:
mineral resources of nuclear industry;
nuclear power plants: materials and equipment;
floating nuclear power plants;
nuclear reactors and systems;
isotopic production;
new materials, equipment and technologies based on conversion of nuclear companies.

Special attention is given the problems of competitiveness of Russian nuclear products on the world market, safe decommissioning of nuclear reactors and systems, recovery of the environment, treatment of radioactive waste and spent fuel, transportation of all types of radioactive materials.

TVEL presents its companies mining uranium and rare metals, manufacturing components for nuclear equipment, producing and supplying fuel for Russian and foreign nuclear power plants, research and transport reactors. TVEL exports its products to 13 countries and supplies fuel to 73 industrial and 30 research reactors worldwide.

Elemash (TVEL Corporation) presents its capacities for producing and supplying nuclear fuel to nuclear power plants in Russia and worldwide. During his visit to Elektrostal on Sept 28 Russian Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov pointed out that Elemash had lots of interesting ideas and actively transformed them into specific products.

Mining Chemical Combine displays its technologies for transporting and storing spent nuclear fuel, constructing “dry” and modernized “wet” SNF storage facilities, producing single-crystal silicon.

Mayak PA exhibits its sensors, measuring systems for process analysis and control as well as ecological programs (recovery of contaminated territories and waters, decommissioning of highly radioactive facilities, designing of ecological monitoring systems).

Lutch Research Company offers cermet fuel elements, a micro-fuel based product that strongly improves the efficiency and safety of nuclear reactors; micro-spheric fuel for gas turbine modular helium reactors; alumdum ceramics for insulators; highly efficient thermal converters and leucosapphires – single-crystal artificial corundum with high optic quality and melting temperature.

NIIAR displays radio-nuclide sources and medicines, MOX fuel and fast breeder reactor technologies, experimental projects for treatment and dry storage of spent nuclear fuel of research reactors.

VNIIAES presents automated control systems for nuclear power plants.

Research Institute of Measuring Systems displays modern software for NPPs.

State Research Center for Machine Building Technologies exhibits materials, technologies and equipment for nuclear industry, particularly, nano-materials and surface treatment technologies, new construction and special steels and alloys, welding materials and equipment.

Aileron displays highly efficient safety systems: protection of premises, access control, TV surveillance, metal detection, etc.

Sverd Engineering and Fabrication Company presents equipment for treatment of spent nuclear fuel of fast breeder reactors, radioactive waste and water treatment and desalination systems.

Elektrogorsk Research Center for Nuclear Plant Safety presents its non-nuclear research projects for enhancing the safety and efficiency of nuclear power plants.

II INTERNATIONAL NUCLEAR FORUM has set off today, Oct 2, and will last till Oct 5.

Its organizers are Federal Agency for Atomic Energy; Federal Medical Biological Agency, All-Russian Design and Scientific Research Institute for Complex Power Technology; ICC “Khlopin Radium Institute”; All-Region Association “Izotop”; All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Chemical Technology, All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Inorganic Materials, All-Russian Scientific Research and Design Institute of Industrial Technology,; Research Institute of Industrial Naval Medicine; Federal Agency for Construction, Housing Maintenance and Utilities, Scientific and Producing Company “Doza”, Emergency Response Center of Federal Agency for Atomic Energy, State Regional Education Centre; Restec Exhibition Company.

The goal of the Forum is to discuss scientific, technical and political aspects of state systems of nuclear and radiation safety, searching ways of solving of scientific, technical, legal and social problems at management of spent nuclear fuel and radioactive waste including it’s treatment, storage and final disposal.

Representatives of research institutes and companies from Russia, CIS, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, the United States are taking part in the forum.
