OREANDA-NEWS. October 3, 2007. President of Russia Vladimir Putin has signed the federal law on the ratification of the Additional Protocol with the IAEA

The protocol was adopted by the State Duma on Sept 14 and approved by the Federation Council on Sept 19 2007.

The protocol was signed by the Ministry of Atomic Energy of Russia in Vienna on Mar 22 2000. It envisions a number of additional organizational and technical measures to control civilian nuclear activity among members to Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The full name of the law is “On the Ratification of the Additional Protocol between the Russian Federation and the International Atomic Energy Agency to the Nuclear Safeguards Agreement between the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics and the International Atomic Energy Agency.”
