OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2007. Over the first eight months of 2007, pulp and paper output by Ilim Group subsidiaries amounted to 1 mln 710 thousand tonnes, 2,7% up as compared to January – August 2006, reported the press-centre of Ilim Group.

Market pulp output went up 59,3 thousand tonnes (6%) to 1 mln 30,4 thousand tonnes. Board production was at 490,2 thousand tonnes, 4,9 thousand tonnes (1%) down year-over-year. Paper production totalled 174,9 thousand tonnes, 5 thousand tonnes (3%) down from the level of the past year. The drop in roll products output is due to general halts, which were carried out earlier in the year as compared to 2006. Before the end of 2007, a rise of output is expected in these product lines.

Pulping went up 41,4 thousand tonnes (3%) to 1 mln 674 thousand tonnes.

Over the first eight months of 2007, Ilim Group logging companies logged 4,56 million cu metres of timber, 6,5% up year-over-year. Total timber supply by the company’s own subsidiaries was 4,5 mln cu metres of timber, 7,2% up from the level of 2006. The share of timber supply by Ilim Group’s own logging companies was 49.3%. The correlation between inside and outside supply reflects the company’s plan to optimize raw wood supply based on the raw wood markets analysis.
