OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2007. The State Corporation “The Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)”, Akimat of the Eastern-Kazakh region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Development Bank and the Novosibirsk region Administration entered into an Agreement on Cooperation.

The Agreement was signed by Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev, Akimat of –Eastern-Kazakh region Head Akim Zhanibek Karibzhanov, Kazhastan Development Bank Board Director Askar Sembin and Novosibirsk region Governor Victor Tolokonsky.

The Agreement aims to establish strategic partnership, promote long-term effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.

Under the Agreement the parties to the Agreement are determined to explore and make preliminary expert’s examination of investment project planned to be carried out on the territory of the Eastern-Kazakh region and the Novosibirsk region, participate in raising funds to finance investment projects and export transactions conducted by companies in the two regions.

Vnesheconombank and the Kazakhstan Development Bank are ready to provide banking and consulting services in the financial field to companies in the Eastern-Kazakh and the Novosibirsk regions.

In order to finance investment projects the parties have identified the following high priority industries: the construction of infrastructure facilities, power engineering, transport, building and expanding production facilities using new and high technologies, export-oriented sectors.

The Agreement is aimed at ensuring sustainable socio-economic development of the Eastern-Kazakh and Novosibirsk regions and expanding trade and economic ties between Kazakh and Russian regions.

The Agreement was made to build on the documents signed earlier: the Agreements on Cooperation between Vnesheconombank and the Kazakhstan Development Bank, the Action Program to promote interregional cooperation, trade and economic ties between border and neighboring regions of Kazakhstan and Russia.
