OREANDA-NEWS. October 8, 2007. It will take the Vladivostok Sea Commercial Port dockers only 16 minutes to unload 70 tons of grain into the holds of a vessel from a car-hopper. It became possible thanks to using of a new technology "Feeding a car aboard".

The idea of this way of loading is rather simple: a portal crane lifts a car filled with grain above a vessel's hold, the dockers open unloading hatches, and, in few seconds, all grain pours into the hold.

Using such a technology the port dockers loaded the "Abakan" steam-ship with 6300 tons of grain in 3 days, from October, 2 to October, 5; it stars for Kamchatka peninsula within the framework of the Northern delivery. The port does not need the covered warehouses and specialized elevators, as all the works are carried out by means of direct way "car-board."
It is necessary to note, that the Vladivostok Sea Commercial Port is the only port in the Far East that loads the grain using such a technology. After solving some problems of interaction with the allied companies and the experts supervising the grain quality, the Port intends to load about 4000 tons a day.
